Can I refresh my credit report myself?

Short Answer: Yes, but please don't and here's why.

Consistency in accessing your credit reports is crucial for an accurate assessment of your credit standing.

While you have the free-will to view your credit reports through the monitoring app, we strongly advise against pre-mature refreshing.

Each refresh resets the reporting cycle, potentially hindering our ability to capture the latest updates from the credit bureaus. This stems from the fact that these bureaus require up to 30 days to respond to disputes, meaning any refresh conducted too soon may overlook recent changes.

Should you refresh your reports too prematurely, it could impede on our ability to gather comprehensive data beyond that specific refresh date.

Consequently, this delay could affect the efficiency of our team in addressing and/or collecting any discrepancies, issues, or positive activity in your credit reports.

Our team might subsequently need to wait until the new refresh date to proceed with your update, prolonging the resolution process and potentially impacting your goals and ETF.

Therefore, while we acknowledge your free-will & accessibility to the credit monitoring app, it's essential to exercise prudence in its use in order to ensure timely and accurate progress updates.
