Hey there, Yusheeka Gray here with DIY Credit, and I want to talk to you about how credit repair really works. Now, I'm not talking about how it should work or how it's supposed to work, but how it usually really works, okay? And so by the time you're done watching this video, you should have a pretty good understanding as to what actually goes on behind the scenes and how we can help you.
Typically, what happens is, the average consumer will go to the internet, try to find a dispute letter template, and they'll use that to write a letter to the credit bureaus challenging items that are on the credit report that are weighing their scores down.
So that letter arrives at the credit bureaus, and then it goes through a machine that's actually going to open the envelopes and scan, read and interpret the letter. And then the computer will try to determine the reason for the dispute. And when it does that, it's either going to do one of two things. It's going to either water your dispute down into a two-digit code, one of a few. They have many, but they only use a few, and then they'll send that code over to the data furnisher in a batch file. Yours along with hundreds or thousands of others all at the same time, and then the data furnisher can respond to that or it's going to deem your dispute as frivolous, whereas it's basically going to be trashed and you may or may not receive a response at all.
So at that point, the data furnisher can then reply to the batch file, which is a spreadsheet file with one click of a button verifying all of the items that are in that file without actually having to open and investigate them. So, and then it's a rinse and repeat cycle, so you really need to know how to get around the automation, the computers, and the machines. So that you can get your disputes into the hand of a real human being, and that is what we do.
