Hey there, Yusheeka Gray here with DIY Credit, and I am back with another video to talk to you about the easiest way to read your credit report, okay. So by the time you are done watching this video, you should have a very good understanding how to go ahead and read and understand your credit report.

So the main thing here to remember is that credit reports are typically divided into five main categories or sections. And that can depend on the type of credit report that you are looking at. But typically this applies to online consumer reports.

The first thing you usually see is personal information. That's your name, address, employer. The second thing it'll usually get into is a summary which gives you an overall view of the number of accounts you have. Collections, the number of real estate accounts, total overall debt, that kind of thing. And then it'll get into your account history where it's itemizing every account you've ever had both open and closed both positive and negative.

And then it will get into your public record section usually, which will show any type of public record you've ever had, civil judgements, bankruptcies, tax liens. And then finally it'll get into or a list, all of your creditor contact information. If you have a credit report that has been mailed to you, a hard report, then that is often also divided by negative accounts in one section and positive accounts in another section as well.

So if you are looking at your credit reports by sections, then you can easily read and understand your report and what you are looking at. I hope this video has been helpful to you.
