My personal and financial information was compromised. What should I do?

If your purse or wallet was stolen, your bank account was hacked, or you notice accounts or charges you don’t recognize, you may be dealing with identity theft.

Your first steps should be to:

  • Secure your financial accounts immediately (bank, cards, online access)

  • File an identity theft report with the appropriate authorities (such as the FTC)

  • Place fraud alerts or freezes where appropriate

  • If you haven't yet activated your $1 Million dollar ID Theft benefit from SmartCredit, then now is a good time to do so.

  • Your SmartCredit ID Theft benefit can assist with everything mentioned above. Just reach out so they can help take care of this.

Once you’ve taken those immediate steps, notify us. We can then help guide you through the proper dispute strategy, documentation, and next steps based on your specific situation.
